We are thrilled to welcome Thomas Fountain as an intern to the Forum team! Thomas is an MBA student at Piedmont University, and he will be working with our digital marketing team. Read on to learn more about Thomas.

Why are you interested in being an intern at Forum?
I am very excited to be interning with an amazing company like Forum. While I’ve worked in the business world for 3 years, the marketing world is new to me. Marketing to me is the perfect combination of creativity and business, where free creative thought is put to work to find connections with consumers. I feel I have the tenacity to work hard and prove I have a spot in the industry and I know that I’ll learn so much from Forum employees.

What interests you about Marketing?
What really interests me about marketing is its versatility and the ability to be creative. I’m very interested in learning more about digital marketing, and I’m looking forward to learning how marketing campaigns are put together to enhance brands and companies in a variety of ways.

What social media do you use most?
I have used the more typical social media such as Instagram and YouTube for years, but recently I have enjoyed using TikTok. A big part of attraction to these platforms is their innovation as trends change every day. I can remember some of the earliest videos on the internet, and now it has become easier to access a wider audience with more sophisticated content.

How do you take your coffee?
I take my coffee about as black as you can get. The stronger the better for me. Recently two new places have opened near my house that have amazing coffee – a little Cuban restaurant, and a mom-and-pop donut shop for a regular brew so I am pleased with the options!

Tell us about your family.
My family consists of my mom and dad, Pam and Joey Fountain, who live in Tallulah Falls. My mom works for Piedmont University, and my dad is in IT. My older brother, Gil, lives in Atlanta and is an editor at WarnerMedia for TBS. We also have a family dog, Alvin, who is a Maltipoo (Maltese and Poodle). Last, but certainly not least, is my wonderful girlfriend Carrie. She is an amazing person with a heart of gold.

How do you start your day?
My day normally starts around 7:30-8:00 am. I’m not a morning person without coffee or heavy caffeine. I once stood in line at a Starbucks with a cup of bland regular coffee while waiting to get more coffee from Starbucks.

What do you do outside of work?
Outside of work (it’s rare that I am not working), I love to read or drive through backroads in my hometown near Clayton, Georgia. Typically, I listen to audiobooks or my favorite podcasts. I am working on my MBA at the moment, so I also have classes, and I enjoy going on runs and to the gym when I have time.

What motto do you live by?
“Do you want to know who you are? Don’t ask. Act! Action will delineate and define you.” ― Thomas Jefferson

Describe yourself in one word.
