Charters Embry is a senior UGA Marketing major, and this summer she is joining the Forum team as one of our marketing interns! We are excited to welcome Charters and had some questions to get to know her better.

What is on your to-do list for 2020?
My to-do list for 2020 is to make the most of this new “normal” and to enjoy my last fall semester of college regardless of what it may look like. I would also like to make more connections with people and have more of an understanding of what I want to do after I graduate.

What’s your personal motto right now?
Life is tough, but you are tougher.

If there’s one place on earth that you could visit, where would it be and why?
I would love to go to Spain. From the pictures I have seen, it is beautiful, and I would love to experience that culture.

What was your favorite thing to do as a child?
My favorite thing to do as a child was to dance, all the time.

What led you to this industry?
I wanted to major in something business related, but also remain creative. Digital marketing seems to hold both of those aspects.

What living creative person do you admire most? Why?
Misty Copeland is someone who I have admired ever since I was a ballerina. She is a very talented professional dancer and fought her way up to the top. I would love to be as passionate about a career as she was.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
As of right now, I think my greatest achievement is being elected President of my sorority and being able to lead our members through this crazy time in our lives. I have learned so much through this position, and have grown immensely because of the challenges it has lead me to. Without this experience, I would not be the person I am today.

Do you have a favorite all-time ad campaign? If so, which one?
Budweiser – Best Buds

What’s your favorite jam to listen to while working?
Maroon 5

If you were awarded a yearbook superlative this year, what would it be and why?
I would be awarded “Most Changed” because I have matured and grown so much since my high school years. I have learned how to do things on my own, become more outgoing, and more determined to succeed.

Thing you enjoy most about college (so we can live vicariously through you)?
This is definitely a hard question because I have enjoyed everything about college and hate that it is coming to an end, but if I were to choose one thing it would be meeting so many people from so many different places. I have found those people that I go out with, study with, and go to church with. My circle of girlfriends I know will be my bridesmaids in my future

Describe yourself in one word.
Optimistic
