Jaemor Farms

THE CHALLENGE

Jaemor Farms, a 550-acre family-owned and operated farm in north Georgia, was originally established in 1912 as ‘Echols Orchards’. Jim Echols and family rebranded as ‘Jaemor Farms’ in 1981 when their roadside market opened along I-985 / Hwy. 365. Jaemor grows 32 varieties of peaches at the farm, including Georgia Belle and Elberta peaches.

Forum has served as a partner of Jaemor Farms for a number of years assisting in developing collateral pieces like brochures and developing graphics for various events. For a number of years, Forum assisted in ongoing website maintenance on a site developed by a previous web development firm. However, as Jaemor Farms has grown, the website has become a critical part of their overall marketing strategy. Georgia’s agri-tourism industry has boomed over the past few years and it was time for a refresh. While Jaemor is the only farm in the state of its kind, the website did not appropriately reflect the experience visitors have when visiting the farm. Directions were difficult for users to find and the site also was not mobile friendly and difficult to navigate.

HOW WE HELPED

Forum Communications first focused on developing a site plan that would simplify the user experience moving location information to the homepage and simplifying the design. Second, we planned a video header that could be changed out by season along with a second promotional section on the site that allowed the Jaemor marketing team to promote whatever was in season at the time. Finally, we placed a renewed focus on search engine optimization, seeking to rank for critical terms that would increase conversions and attendance.

The site also included re-organization of the available fruits and vegetables at Jaemor and a renewed focus on the agri-tourism aspect of the business.

ALL IN THE DETAILS

Since Jaemor is a farm, traffic has always been measured seasonally starting in the spring through the fall. In a year over year comparison of site traffic and conversions (completion of interest forms, phone calls regarding visits, etc.), organic search traffic increased an incredible 21.7% while website conversions increased an amazing 724.6%! In addition, call volume regarding the ability to find directions on the website dropped dramatically all leading to one of Jaemor’s most successful years in the organization’s history.

Our successes have led to continued engagement with Jaemor and a new focus on agri-tourism. In 2021, Forum Communications assisted in the development of the brand for Jaemor’s fall Harvest Celebration and in 2022, we’re assisting with a variety of other agri-tourism related initiatives.

If you haven’t had a chance, make sure to visit Jaemor Farms sometime during the summer. There’s no better place to find a Georgia peach or strawberry!
