THE CHALLENGE

A long-established house of worship in the city of Gainesville, Ga., Grace Episcopal was in search of an updated, more user-friendly web presence to accurately display the life of the church. Having been at the same location since 1913, Grace Episcopal has grown and changed with the city and region it represents, and the church wanted to depict this with a forward-looking and robust internet presence. Grace also wanted to give parishioners and visitors alike a simple guide of events, a breakdown of services and a look at what makes this congregation and its leaders unique.

HOW WE HELPED

Grace Episcopal’s former site was both confusing for visitors and hard to update for those tending to the site. It was not mobile friendly, and it was chock full of confusing headings. In short, it presented a face to online visitors that was not the welcoming presence Grace wants to present to anyone interested in the church. What was needed was a fresh approach that made it both friendly for visitors while also allowing them to get the information they sought. Therefore, we rebuilt the entire site, being sure to account for more visual elements, as well as modern requirements, such as mobile friendliness. We also included the Grace Episcopal’s popular preschool in the site – which is connected to the church but also its own entity – so that visitors would have the opportunity to learn more about that aspect.

ALL IN THE DETAILS

Forum Communications employed professional photography sessions in pursuit of capturing the true look and feel of both worship services, the diverse congregation, and the clergy and staff. The art also took into account the distinctive architecture that the church itself presents to north Georgia as a mix of heritage and modern constructions. It also made it simple for browsers to determine how and when to visit for any number of services or events thanks to a detailed calendar. All of this rotates around an intuitive side navigation bar that enumerates all aspects of the church and its pursuits. We also ensured that each page within the site contains cross-links so that every page is connected. Therefore, visitors to Grace Episcopal’s online presence can easily find any church-related information they seek – including on their mobile devices.
