Jaemor Farms
Website Redesign
Jaemor Farms is a six generation, family-run, agri-business that attracts roughly 1,000,000 visitors per year to its sprawling property, market, and attractions in northeast Georgia (nearby Alto). Jaemor is a regional pioneer of farm-to-table commerce and tourism and has expanded from a roadside produce stand to a bustling attraction for both locals and visitors looking for fresh fruits, vegetables, baked goods and beyond – as well as seasonal farm activities.
THE CHALLENGE
Despite its physical presence as an exciting and innovative destination for tourists, Jaemor’s virtual presence – specifically its website – needed an updated and fresh look. Already an established client of Forum Communications, we anticipated Jaemor’s website needs and thus worked to create the perfect online presence. Forum determined that Jaemor’s new website should feature all parts of the farm’s business: Farming, agri-tourism, a market, a bakery and an eatery.
Jaemor’s previous website focused primarily on its farm and seasonal activities – updating activities as each season ended to bring those to visitors’ attention. However, Jaemor wanted its new website to represent what guests can expect when they visit the farm, as well as to help promote all aspects of Jaemor’s daily business (which is continuously innovating and varying to adjust to the change of season and the needs of visitors).
HOW WE HELPED
Forum Communications worked hand-in-hand with the client to create a new website that didn’t just look good. We wanted to create a new online presence based around user experience and design. To that end, we reorganized Jaemor’s website menu and content incorporating principles of both User Experience Design (UX) and User Interface Design (UI).
The resulting website delivers an overall design that incorporates Jaemor’s brand colors with a modern typeface and beautiful imagery from the farm. It is a website that is easy to navigate (intuitive) – and it encourages visitors to learn about the wide range of services and goods that Jaemor provides. The breadth and depth of content housed on the site also helps to establish Jaemor’s historical place as a leader in agriculture in northeast Georgia, as well as experts in delivering produce for customers, and farm fun/experiences for visitors of all ages and curiosities.
ALL IN THE DETAILS
As much as functional design and content helps drive visitors to and through the website, Forum Communications understands that a farm experience really is about the senses. Therefore, we focused on delivering tantalizing visuals – art that you can almost smell, taste, and touch. After all, tangible goods (produce and baked goods, as well as experiences such as a corn maze) are what bring visitors back time after time to Jaemor. That is why Forum Communications enlisted professional photography to act as the centerpiece of the new site. We also relied on the expertise and artistry of our graphics team. Forum staff hand illustrated depictions of produce – craftsmanship that was thoughtfully incorporated throughout the site.
Forum Communications delivered Jaemor a website that features and explains all aspects of their multi-faceted business. It also drives traffic – the new site averages about 20,000 sessions per month. Thanks to the new site, visitors can plan their visit, learn more about the many seasonal activities, purchase tickets in advance, see in-season produce, place orders for market items and gift boxes, as well as purchase to-go and delivery orders for The Eatery – Jaemor’s deli and catering business. The result helps advance Jaemor’s position at the forefront of agri-tourism in northeast Georgia and establishes their credentials as a fixture of agriculture in the state.
