A Day in the Life: Mona Abboud

We are excited to welcome Mona as the new marketing intern on the Forum team! A graduate of Lakeview Academy’s class of 2018, Mona is now a senior in UGA’s Honors College, double majoring in international affairs and communication studies with a Spanish minor. Read on to learn more about Mona.

What is your favorite thing about the Forum culture?
I love how young and fresh the culture is. Each person presents their ideas and their talents in unique ways, and that adds to Forum’s value as a professional environment. Everyone I’ve met has been so kind, welcoming, and fun to be around. As a company, that says a lot. I’m proud and excited to become a part of the Forum team!

What social media platform do you use most often?
Although I limit my use of social media, I’m definitely a Snapchat lover just because it gives me an opportunity to visually interact with friends and family abroad. Snapchat almost makes me feel as if I’m physically with the relatives that are farthest away.

What motto do you live by?
If you work hard and be kind, everything you want in life will fall into place.

What are your top sources of news and how often do you check them?
I often rely on NPR, CNN, and The New York Times for my daily news. I check and watch the news about twice a day- once in the morning and once at night during the nightly news shows.

What do you like best about your job?
I love getting to strengthen and fortify my writing and editing skills with different creative projects for a variety of clients. There is no better practice than putting paper to pen (or fingers to keyboard) and letting the imaginative process flow.

How do you take your coffee?
I’m a coffee lover at heart! How I take my coffee all depends on my mood. Sometimes, I’ll drink it black with no sugar or cream. Other times, I’ll make a flavored iced coffee with some vanilla and cinnamon. Either way, coffee is pure yumminess!

When you aren’t working, what are you doing?
When I’m not working, I love to spend time with my family, workout, cook, watch Netflix, sing, and travel!

Tell us about your family.
We are a family of four! My parents are from Beirut, Lebanon in the Middle East, so I’ve always been surrounded by a multicultural and multilingual family. From delicious food to Arabic music, my younger sister and I are very grateful to have been exposed to different perspectives from a young age. I’m definitely a family girl and take every chance I get to spend quality time with them!
