Buttermilk Pie Company

Founded in Gainesville, Georgia in 2012, Buttermilk Pie Company was launched by University of Georgia graduate and creative entrepreneur, Amanda Wilbanks. Armed with family recipes, Southern charm and an all-butter pie dough that melts in your mouth, Amanda and her team of bakers create gourmet sweet and savory pies for all of life’s special occasions and celebrations. While born and baked in Georgia, Buttermilk Pie Company ships pies to corporate and individual clients nationwide.

Buttermilk Pie Company is an up-and-coming unique niche business experiencing exponential growth and varying business and marketing opportunities.

Forum originally worked with Buttermilk Pie Company early in the year when Buttermilk was invited to provide 200 petite pies at Governor Nathan Deal’s Inaugural Gala in January 2015. With such a large event came a big opportunity to showcase Buttermilk Pie Company’s brand. Even though the melt-in-your-mouth pies speak for themselves, Amanda reached out to us for help designing a brand showcase piece to affix to all of the pristinely packaged pies so she could share the heart and history of her company with Gala attendees.

We continued working together after Amanda was invited to sell her pies at Lucy’s Market in Buckhead, and the need to develop product labels depicting her luscious ingredients and pie descriptions became a priority. Finally, we inspired an idea for Buttermilk with their corporate and holiday pies of developing personalized gift inserts to make giving the gift of pie simple and easy!

When growing a new business, you have to seize every opportunity that comes your way. So working with Buttermilk to not only maintain the exquisite brand Amanda had already established while being flexible and nimble enough to meet the business’s needs as they arose was a must. From developing a brochure for the Gala, to creating product labels for her pies and corporate holiday insert pieces, it has been nothing short of peachy working with this young entrepreneur and helping her vision become a reality.

The Result

Buttermilk Pie Company’s brand exudes class – simple and clean yet reflective of the decadent specialty pies they masterfully craft and sell.

The feedback we heard from Buttermilk’s presence at the Gala event was nothing shy of sensational. The savory pies were a huge hit among Georgia legislators, senators, musicians and community members alike (not that we were surprised). In fact, word-of-mouth got around, which is how Buttermilk Pie Company got the opportunity to sell at Lucy’s Market in Buckhead. We decided to carry a square theme throughout the pieces we developed to match the shape of the pie boxes. Not only is the brochure square, but Forum’s Creative Director figured out a way to make the product label, rectangular in shape, reflective of this square feature.

The corporate inserts we designed have made celebrating life with pie easier for businesses during the holiday season. Cleanly and simply designed while paying tribute to features of the Buttermilk brand within the creative design, these inserts have helped build and enhance Buttermilk’s corporate business during the holiday season.

“Working with Forum and their outstanding and talented staff

has been one of the best decisions we’ve made in business thus far. Their attention to detail, creative minds and determination to deliver quality design and product that exceeds client expectations goes above and beyond anything we’ve experienced. I can’t imagine trusting anyone else with our marketing, promotional and design work. Forum truly is the best in the business.”
